Broadvale Block 6 Chardonnay

Voyager Estate Broadvale Block 6 Chardonnay is drawn from Block 6 of the Broadvale Vineyard. The vines, all Dijon Clone 95, grow at the crown of a hill sloping east.

The soils of this small vineyard are exceptionally uniform, comprised of gravel and granite with a stony clay base. They produce Chardonnay with a distinctive personality.

Handpicked grapes are cooled overnight and whole bunch pressed. The juice is naturally fermented in French oak barrels. Malolactic fermentation follows, building texture and softening the fruit's high natural acidity.

The wine matures for 10-12 months in barrel with bâtonnage, or lees stirring, at four week intervals. It is then blended and bottled.

Pale straw, Voyager Estate Broadvale Block 6 Chardonnay has a core of minerality with tightly wound citrus notes and a chalky texture. Cellaring potential is 10 years.
